KLE Institute of Physiotherapy located in Belgaum and catering physiotherapy education and services since 1994, is one of the premier Institute in the field of Physiotherapy.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy Course of 4 ½ years was started in 1994 at K.L.E.S. Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum under Department of Physiotherapy affiliated to Karnataka University Dharwad. In 1997 it got affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.

It is the first Institute to start Master of Physiotherapy program in the year 2000 under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. The Department of Physiotherapy emerged as an independent Institute in 2004 and today is well known as “K.L.E. Institue Of Physiotherapy”, Belgaum.

• The Department of Neurophysiotherapy at KAHER Institute of Physiotherapy organized an impactful Head Injury Awareness session at KLE Lingaraj College, Belagavi. On March 20, 2026, we delivered an informative lecture on head injury prevention, symptoms, and management to degree students.Empowering the community with knowledge—one lecture at a time.
• Proud Moment For KLE Institute of Physiotherapy Belagavi as Dr.Aarti Welling, Associate Professor, Department of Orthopaedic Physiotherapy was Honoured with the Prestigious "Research Excellence Award" at "International Physiotherapy Summit" by D.Y.Patil College of Physiotherapy,Pune on 7/3/26.
• KAHER Institute of Physiotherapy, Belagavi, hosted its annual gathering Trimvaha 2025 on March 2, 2026. Chief Guest of the event was Dr. Kavita Warangal (MD, Belagavi Smart City), Dr. Vishwanath Pattanshetti (KAHER Registrar) presided the event , and Guest of Honour was Dr. Uma Shankar Mohanty (IAP Ex- President). Highlights included releasing magazines DISHA and ROOTS, Principal Dr. Sanjiv Kumar's annual report, and awards for winners.
• The Institute of Physiotherapy, a constituent unit of KLE Academy of Higher Education & Research, organized the oath-taking ceremony – ANANTARA- 2026 for the batch 2021-2026 on February 14, 2026, at the KLE Centenary Convention Center and JNMC Lawn, Nehru Nagar, Belagavi. The event commenced with a warm welcome to esteemed guests for the evening: Dr.Lalit Lata Jha, Incharge Vice Chancellor,Parul University,Goa ,Dr.Prabhat Ranjan Senior Physiotherapist,AIIMS Delhi,Dr.Surendra Kumar Mina ,Dean Vivekananda Global University,Jaipur. Dr.Vishwanath Pattanshetti Registrar KAHER presided over the event. The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the graduating students as they took the professional oath, read by Dr. Prabhat Ranjan for physiotherapy students and Dr.Surendra kumar Mina for the occupational therapy students, pledging to uphold ethical values and responsibilities in the field of physiotherapy and occupational therapy, respectively. The event also marked the release of Conference Proceedings of the International Physiotherapy Conference 'PEARL PHYSIOCON 2025 ' organised by the institute on 21&22 November 2025.Dr. Sanjiv Kumar, Principal, along with the organizing committee, faculty members, and students, played a crucial role in making the event a success. The ceremony concluded with inspiring speeches, followed by a vote of thanks, leaving the students motivated and proud as they embarked on their professional journey.
• Dr. Vijay Kage, esteemed Member of the National Council for Allied Health Practice (NCAHP) and Dean of the Faculty of Physiotherapy at KLE Institute of Physiotherapy, Belagavi, paid a courtesy visit and held a productive meeting with Dr. Yagna Shukla, Chairperson of NCAHP, in New Delhi on February 11, 2026.
