KLE Institute of Physiotherapy located in Belgaum and catering physiotherapy education and services since 1994, is one of the premier Institute in the field of Physiotherapy.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy Course of 4 ½ years was started in 1994 at K.L.E.S. Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum under Department of Physiotherapy affiliated to Karnataka University Dharwad. In 1997 it got affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.

It is the first Institute to start Master of Physiotherapy program in the year 2000 under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. The Department of Physiotherapy emerged as an independent Institute in 2004 and today is well known as “K.L.E. Institue Of Physiotherapy”, Belgaum.

Recent Highlights

• KLE Institute of Physiotherapy, Belagavi hosted the International Physiotherapy Conference – PEARL PHYSIOCON 2025, themed “Shaping the Future: Technology Driven Patient Care.” With 700+ participants and experts from 7+ countries — including the UK, Australia, South Africa, Oman, USA, Nepal, and Saudi Arabia — the conference brought together a global community of physiotherapy professionals. Over 300 scientific paper and poster presentations showcased innovative research and clinical insights. Pre-Conference Workshops set the stage for high-impact learning: 3-Day Workshop (18–20 Nov 2025)“Manual Therapy in Lymphatic Drainage”By Dr. Omar Al Tamimi 2-Day Workshop (19–20 Nov 2025) “International Classification of Functioning, Health and Disability (ICF)” By Dr. Alakananda Banerjee & Dr. Robins Kumar 20 Nov 2025 Workshops: “4 Root Causes of Musculoskeletal Pain” – Dr. Sisan Evert “Recent Updates & Manual Therapy That Works in Spine, Knee & Shoulder: A Hands-On Workshop” – Dr. Deepak Kumar Capri “The Adult Hip: Navigating Diagnosis to Treatment – Master Hip Diagnosis & Treatment in One Day” – Dr. Barry Getz. • On 3rd December 2025, the Extramural Committee of KLE Institute of Physiotherapy, Belagavi conducted a street play at the Belagavi Railway Station on the occasion of World Disability Day. The activity aimed to raise awareness about disability, highlight the importance of accessibility, and promote social inclusion. The students presented an impactful performance portraying the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and the need for empathy, early rehabilitation, and community support. The bustling railway station setting helped the message reach a wide audience, and the initiative received positive appreciation from commuters and onlookers. The event successfully conveyed the importance of building a more inclusive and supportive society. • On the occasion of World Disability Day, an awareness session was conducted at Government Kannada Higher Primary School, Hudali, Belgaum. The session was delivered by Dr. Raksha Prakash, who addressed the students and teachers on the significance of the day and emphasized the importance of promoting inclusion, acceptance, and respect for individuals with disabilities. She briefly explained the various types of disabilities and highlighted the need for early identification and supportive learning environments for children with special needs. Dr. Raksha also discussed the vital role of physiotherapy in enhancing mobility, functional independence, and overall quality of life for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities. The session was informative and well-received, helping create awareness and sensitivity among young learners and educators. • On the occasion of World Disability Day, the NSS Unit–05 of KAHER Institute of Physiotherapy organized a Rangoli Making Competition on 3rd December, held from 03:00 pm to 05:00 pm at the institute premises. The event aimed to foster awareness, inclusivity, and sensitivity towards individuals with disabilities through creative expression. Each academic year actively participated by nominating two students as per the guidelines. Participants designed vibrant and meaningful rangolis based on the theme “World Disability Day”, incorporating symbolic elements and strong messages of empowerment, equality, and support for persons with disabilities. The competition saw enthusiastic involvement, artistic talent, and teamwork across all batches. Faculty members and NSS volunteers ensured smooth coordination and fair judgment throughout the event. • On the occasion of World Disability Day (3rd December 2025), the Department of Neurophysiotherapy, KLES Institute of Physiotherapy, conducted a Physical Disability Evaluation and provided individualized exercise prescriptions for differently-abled children at Snehalya Sparsha School, Khasbag, Belagavi. As a small gesture of support, the team also donated a green board along with fruits for the children. • The Student Council of KAHER Institute of Physiotherapy organized an E-Poster Making Competition on 3rd December 2025 to mark World Disability Day. The event aimed to encourage students to promote disability awareness and inclusivity through creative digital posters.A total of 8 undergraduate students participated, each designing an original e-poster. The submissions reflected thoughtful ideas, creativity, and a strong understanding of the theme.The competition was evaluated by Dr. Apeksha Hungund and Dr. Sumedha Mane, who assessed the posters based on creativity, relevance, and clarity of message. Three winners were selected and appreciated for their outstanding presentations.
